Membership Benefits

WSGC provides its academic member institutions with access to unique research, scholarship, and fellowship grant programs. The programs have been transformative in the lives of our alumni and have helped launch careers in aerospace and allied fields. Students and faculty are also supported in their direct engagement with research programs at NASA centers around the country through internships, co-ops, faculty visit programs, and the NASA Ambassadors program.

WSGC commercial affiliates are supported in developing and implementing internship programs for affiliate students to promote the growth of the state’s aerospace workforce. Aerospace workforce development is further incentivized through WSGC’s Industry Academic Partnerships Program, which provides seed funds for commercial aerospace affiliates to develop industrial/university collaborations and partnerships on an aerospace-related research problem.

Informal Educational institutions are funded by the WSGC to develop and implement innovative programs and curricula in aerospace-related fields to do community outreach and incentivize the participation of underrepresented communities in STEM fields.

Browse our funding programs to learn more about each of these areas.

Benefits of affiliate membership also include involvement in the overall policy direction of the Consortium through serving on the Advisory Council; first access to all communications from NASA and the Consortium regarding RFPs, grants, contracts, and other matters; having certain rights to any significant new technology or invention developed under WSGC funding; access to all Consortium sponsored forums, conferences, and seminars; opportunities to share, through user group meetings, results achieved by other Affiliate Members and grantees; opportunities to work with other Consortium Affiliate Members in research and education; and other benefits as may be developed by the Consortium.
