WSGC Student Spotlight: Felicity Daniels

September 21, 2020

Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Felicity Daniels! Felicity is the recipient of a WSGC Undergraduate Scholarship award and is currently a senior studying Physics at Carthage College.

Stargazing as a little girl sparked Felicity’s interest in space. By the end of high school, she was running her school’s astronomical society. Through this experience, she volunteered at Carthage College’s Griffin Observatory, organized field trips, and taught space-science and tech-related topics to peers. Early in Felicity’s undergraduate experience, she worked with a team to design, construct, and launch a rocket in WSGC’s 2018-19 Collegiate Rocket Competition.

Since 2019, Felicity has been conducting research through the Colorado Space Grant Consortium’s RockSat-C program.  The team plans to test their experiment on a sub-orbital rocket launched from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. Rounding out her undergraduate experience, Felicity contributes research efforts to a Modal Propellant Gauging experiment led by WSGC Director, Dr. Kevin Crosby.

Congratulations Felicity, and best of luck to you in your future!
