Carthage will officially celebrate the School of Business and Economics launch on Wednesday, April 5, with keynote speaker Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar.

The celebration will take place on campus in the A. W. Clausen Center for World Business and features a 4 p.m. reception and launch event with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a 5:30 p.m. opening event with ribbon-cutting, leadership remarks, and keynote speaker Kunal Kapoor. These events are free and open to the public. Business partners, employers, alumni, current and prospective students and families, faculty, and staff are all invited to attend.

The day’s events will also highlight community connections to the School of Business and Economics, including the Business and Professional Coalition, through a roundtable event at 3 p.m. for local professionals which will engage these partners in discussions with faculty followed by an open-to-the-public reception. Mr. Kapoor grew from data analyst to CEO in 20 years at Morningstar, a highly influential Chicago-based company that provides resources for investors. “Kunal Kapoor’s success and achievements represent what is possible with a business-focused liberal arts degree,” says Professor Jim Padilla, dean of the new Carthage business school.
