Haley AndersonMeet the Featured Guest Speaker

Haley Anderson, Project Engineer
Sierra Nevada Corporation, Space Systems

Haley Anderson is a Project Engineer for Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Space Systems division in Madison, Wisconsin; currently working in Life Support Systems, Thermal Control Systems, Hydroponics, and Propulsion where she contributes her varied talents to new advancements in space exploration. Haley is a tenacious advocate for solving the ‘unsolvable’ and “she has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to break down the needs across programs and to strategize a resolution that pulls together individuals in traditionally “stove-piped” positions to work in concert towards a common objective. She strives to understand the obstacles and roadblocks that exist and how to keep herself and others accountable to removing said roadblocks to get the task at hand completed.” In her nearly ten year career in aerospace, she has helped design and pattern the space suit–leading the anthropometric research between the suit and capsule systems, managed high level projects under the new shuttle (SLS) program and acted as the subcontract representative with NASA communications in projects totaling over $70M. She has modeled vehicle interfaces in ANSYS, MATLAB, and CRADLE, and wrote programming to update the fluid dynamic outputs of one of NASA’s largest hypersonic wind tunnels. She has also been highly involved in her community to promote STEAM (particularly for young women) and organized regional events for her church’s youth. Haley is a wife to another engineering mind and mother to two young children. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boise State University with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Theatre.
