WSGC rocket competition needs volunteers

April 17, 2018

Looking to be a part of a unique NASA opportunity? The Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium is in search of four to six student volunteers to help at the First Nations Launch and Wisconsin Collegiate High-Powered Rocket Launch from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Richard Bong State Recreational Area in western Kenosha County.

More than 30 teams will launch their rockets nearly 5,000 feet. Judges from NASA’s Kennedy and Johnson Space centers and Glenn Research Center will be joined by industry judges from The Boeing Company, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and Spaceport Sheboygan.

To find out how you can help, please contact Christine Thompson Bolz today at cthompson2@carthage.edu (or in room 80 of the David A Straz Jr. Center for the Natural and Social Sciences). Students volunteering for the entire day will receive compensation.
