Take the family to Rockets For Schools this Weekend!

May 03, 2016

WSGC is going on a field trip to Spaceport Sheboygan! Come watch rockets with us on May 6-7th!

Rockets For Schools is an awesome program that gives 6-12 grade students an opportunity to learn about aerospace technology. What better way to learn about aerospace than to construct and fly your own rocket? Every year, more that 300 students from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan participate in the competition. In addition to constructing a rocket, the students also design a payload experiment, give an oral presentation, and prepare a visual exhibit of their rocket to display. The public is welcome to join and view the exhibits at the Great Lakes Aerospace Science Education Center.

On Friday, everyone is welcome to meet a four-time shuttle astronaut, Jay Apt. Astronaut Apt will be speaking to the public at 1:30pm.

On Saturday, the launch starts at 9:00am  and will go untill 5:00pm.

We hope to see you there!
