HARIBO and Boys and Girls Club enjoy Carthage football game
Carthage was pleased to host both HARIBO and the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha on Oct. 7 for the 2nd annual HARIBO Invitational.
The Boys and Girls Club members shot hoops in the Field House and listened to Carthage students speak about playing Division III sports before helping Ember and the HARIBO Goldbear welcome the football team to the field with a cheer tunnel. During the game, they participated in a drawing for Carthage spirit gear and were celebrated on the field during halftime.
“Thank you so much for a fantastic experience,” said Jason Justus, Boys and Girls Club resource development and special events coordinator. “Watching a college football game is a great experience that many of our members couldn’t do without [Carthage’s and HARIBO’s] generosity.”
Toni Hanson, director of HR operations for the HARIBO Pleasant Prairie facility shared the same sentiment. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with such great organizations and people. It was a great time!”
For the HARIBO team, seeing a game of hometown college football was a great opportunity for team bonding and camaraderie. Firebird football provides an energetic family atmosphere, with performances by the Carthage spirit team, dance team, Carthage Pep Band, and a row of bounce houses. No one seemed to mind the end score — Firebirds 20, North Park 35.
