The Office of Peer Tutoring hires students in all majors. Join a community of like-minded students and support your fellow Firebirds by becoming a peer tutor.
Interested applicants should be friendly and personable, have a growth mindset, and be interested in making connections across campus. Tutors receive training before working with students and regular support through weekly small group staff meetings. As tutors grow in experience, we also offer leadership opportunities and a chance to mentor new tutors.
We are especially interested in applicants who can tutor the following courses:
- BUS/ECN 2340
- CHM 2080 (prefer candidates available MWF 2:50-3:55 p.m.)
- CHM 3010 (prefer candidates available MWF 2:50-3:55 p.m.)
- CSC 1820 (prefer candidates available MWF 2:50-3:55 p.m.)
- Mathematics (prefer candidates who can tutor multiple courses)
Tutoring is a paid position that requires a minimum weekly commitment of five hours, which includes a mandatory staff meeting. Other requirements include:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- B or higher in course(s) you tutor
- Recommendation from an instructor in the appropriate department(s)
- Interview with the director of the Writing Center and Peer Tutoring

To get started, please complete the online tutor application on Handshake or via Google form. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
