See a recital featuring Prof. Gregory Berg Sunday
Professor Gregory Berg, bass-baritone and piano, welcomes you to attend his annual faculty recital, “The 49’ers: A 75th Anniversary Celebration of 4 Great Shows From 1949,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in the H. F. Johnson Recital Hall.
The four shows featured in this musical showcase will host some of the most talented composers, lyricists, and writers from the time: “Brigadoon” (book/lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe), “Lost in the Stars” (book/lyrics by Maxwell Anderson, music by Kurt Weill), “Miss Liberty” (book: Robert E. Sherwood, music/lyrics by Irving Berlin), and “South Pacific” (book/lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, music by Richard Rodgers).
Come and enjoy songs that explore themes related to love, justice, race, and faith.
