Robert Rauscher ’25 and Jacob Mayer ’23 publish research in international journal
Carthage chemistry student Robert Rauscher ’25 and graduate Jacob Mayer ’23 coauthored a paper recently published by the journal Colloids and Interfaces.
The title of the paper was “An Investigation of the Effect of pH on Micelle Formation by a Glutamic Acid-Based Biosurfactant.” Their research studied a molecule that is an eco-friendly and green alternative to those currently used in detergents, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
Jacob and Robert did their research with Professor Kevin Morris during Carthage’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program. Their research was supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
