The Office of Equity and Inclusion celebrated Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month with special events for all students.

The Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, hosted in the Engagement and Inclusion Center, was a vibrant event filled with free authentic Hispanic food, lively music, and traditional games like Lotería. Attendees mingled in a great social atmosphere, enjoying the inclusive community spirit and leaving with complimentary candy-filled goodie bags as a parting gift.

The Sip and Paint event curated a huge turnout! Members from both Mi Gente and Youth Empowered in the Struggle came by, and everyone who came painted multiple designs, both on canvases and pots. Paintings ranged from portraits to superheroes or ideas inspired by Latin American indigenous cultures. Even if students didn’t paint, they still came by to connect with other Latine/Hispanic students on campus and learn more about the organizations and resources available that can support them.
