Biography

Christine Bolz is the assistant director for the NASA Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, overseeing $1.25M in grant funding annually. Ms. Bolz works with 35 affiliate institutions throughout the state of Wisconsin promoting aerospace and space sciences. She is the program director for the largest Native American Rocket Launch Competition for Undergraduate Students in the United States and Canada.

Since taking on her role with WSGC, Ms. Bolz has earned her single-engine private pilot’s license, flying “Bertha,” a 1962 high-powered Cessna 182. She is Level II Certified to launch high-powered rockets and holds a ham radio license. She hopes to earn her Instrument Flight and Drone Pilot ratings in the near future.

Ms. Bolz serves on the Women in Aviation International Southeast Wisconsin Chapter Board as vice president and the Lake Of the Ozarks Experimental Aircraft Association Board as treasurer.

Ms. Bolz owns “Bolz Marine Survey and Claims, LLC,” a family-owned marine survey company established in 1964 that determines if small crafts and yachts will burn up, blow up or sink. She captains “Dee Dee,” a Premiere 310 Boundary Waters. She raises chickens, has a permaculture garden, and runs a cow-calf cattle farm.

Ms. Bolz is a member of Heartland Worship Center in Camdenton, Missouri, and Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church in Lake Villa, Illinois.

Prior to joining the Carthage family, Ms. Bolz served on the Winthrop Harbor Board of Education for 16 years; served in public health creating training films for bioterror attacks and pandemics; worked as a journalist in the film industry, and coached girl’s softball for 19 years.

She graduated from Carthage College in 2013. She has 13 grandchildren, five daughters, and one son.
