Have you ever wondered about the diversity of life and how it got that way? Would you want to walk in the footsteps of Darwin and explore the Galapagos Islands?

Students in this course will review current and past evolutionary studies to gain an understanding of mechanisms of evolution and impacts on speciation while exploring the Galapagos Islands where Darwin was inspired.

Students will also compare the biodiversity of distinct ecosystems found in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Experiential learning is one of the most effective ways to learn, and as we travel through Ecuador and the Galapagos, you will learn about the diversity of life, why evolution is the unifying theme of biology, and how scientists work to study these concepts.
