Current Position

Communication Coordinator at CMAFH

At Carthage, Breanna Reynolds ’22 joined the dance team, was a member of Alpha Chi Omega, and worked for the Office of Admissions. While taking advantage of the extracurricular activities on campus, she was able to make life-long connections — one of which helped her obtain her current position at CMA/Flodyne/Hydradyne (CMAFH).

CMAFH is a distributor that offers machine automation and control solutions for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical applications. As a communications coordinator, Ms. Reynolds corresponds with customers, engineers, salespeople, and other companies.

“I actually got my job because of a friend I met at Carthage! She’s a year older than me, and we spent three years on the dance team together. Shortly after I graduated, she sent me a text asking if I was looking for a job and set up an interview for me!”

Why did you choose Carthage?

“I chose Carthage because I felt most at home on campus. I had friends who attended the College when I was still in high school, and I was able to come visit them and hear about their amazing experiences. Within my first week at Carthage, I met my two best friends (to this day), made the dance team, and auditioned for the fall dance show.”

What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?

“I actually got my job because of a friend I met at Carthage! She’s a year older than me, and we spent three years on the dance team together. Shortly after I graduated, she sent me a text asking if I was looking for a job and set up an interview for me!”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“My favorite professors at Carthage were Colleen Palmer and Nick Pilarski. Prof. Palmer was my advisor and taught the majority of my public relations classes, which I enjoyed immensely. Although I did not go into the PR field, having that background knowledge has helped me succeed in daily life.

“Prof. Pilarski taught a few of my communication classes and offered to write me a letter of recommendation if I ever needed one. He encouraged my love of dance and allowed me to write multiple papers about various parts of the dance industry. Ultimately, I was so inspired by his constant enthusiasm that I was able to take the ideas behind one of those papers and turn it into my senior thesis.”
