Paul Csongradi chose Carthage because of the exceptional education program, the caring faculty and staff, and the strong sense of community he found during visits. “The Education Department here at Carthage really guides you through the process of becoming a top-tier teacher,” he said. “All of the professors are extremely helpful and are always checking up on you to make sure you are on the right track.”
Paul chose to major in education because he wants to help students the way his professors have helped him.
How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?
“One of my favorite professors here would have to be Professor Ron Bailey. His class and teaching style is what I want to strive for when I become a teacher. He is always there to help out when you need him. Another would be Professor Eric Pullin. The way he taught history was the best way possible: fun and engaging. He always brought enthusiasm to the class even though it was an 8 a.m. He really made me enjoy history.”
Favorite class
“My favorite class this year was History 1000 because the way Professor Pullin taught was awesome. He was always engaging with the students and making the boring history topics into the most interesting.”
Favorite moments and memories at Carthage
“My favorite moments are when I am with my friends on the beach when it is sunny and 75 degrees!”
Favorite spot on campus
“It’s great to go to the beach after a long day of classes and just relax with your friends.”
Biggest surprise so far
“The biggest surprise to me is the way I have matured and grown as an adult in the past two years. Carthage has helped me learn all the possibilities I have and how to use all my traits.”
Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?
“Make sure to go to the professors if you need help. That is what they are there for, and they are extremely helpful.”
