Program

The RockSat programs are sponsored by the Colorado Space Grant Consortium and include the following truly amazing opportunities:

  • RockOn training workshop for faculty and undergraduates for the construction and launch of a sounding rocket payload experiment.
  • RockSat-C sounding rocket payload program. Student and faculty teams design and build their own sounding rocket payload experiment and launch it into space at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
  • RockSat-X sounding rocket payload program. RockSat-X has an ejectable skin and nose cone that will expose experiments to the space environment fully at apogee. Additionally, the rocket will be de-spun and stabilized to allow for a greater range of experiments and utilization of microgravity.

Students accepted to a RockSat program can apply to WSGC for support of program participation costs through the NASA Sponsored Competitions funding opportunity.
