Career goal

“I would like to work at a marketing or advertising firm or do social media marketing. Eventually, I would like to do fashion marketing.”

How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?

“My professors at Carthage have been so kind and understanding. Never be afraid to ask for help in a class because your professors will help you as much as possible. My professors have helped me succeed here at Carthage because I feel like I put in a lot of hard work, have tried my hardest in all my classes, and have seen good results.”

Favorite class

“My favorite class I took at Carthage was Popular Music in America! I took this in my first semester because it was so interesting to learn about the history of many genres of music. Music is my life; I used to play the flute and love to sing.”

Campus involvement

“I did cheerleading at Carthage for one year. It was great to be a part of the team because I haven’t done cheer since I graduated high school in 2018. I was also involved in Catholics at Carthage, Commuter Club, Active Minds, and the Yoga Club. I was also in the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.”

Toughest class

“It would be Statistics in Business and Economics; I have struggled with math and always have to ask many questions to understand it. My professor was helpful, though, and I also tried tutoring for this class.”

Internships or on-campus employment

“As a catholic community builder, I worked for the Center for Faith and Spirituality in the chapel. I organized Catholic Mass and managed the Catholics at Carthage Club and the Instagram page.”

Opportunities at Carthage

“My senior thesis was one of the most significant projects I’ve had here at Carthage; my thesis was on diversity in the fashion industry. It was a lot of work, but it was interesting to research this topic.”

Scholarships

“I received the Springfield Scholarship and the Evelyn K. Bennett Scholarship. They have helped me pay for college tremendously.”

Favorite moments and memories at Carthage

“My favorite moments at Carthage were being a cheerleader, Carthage allowing me to be here, meeting my best friends, dances, and going to the Brewers vs. Cubs game and Bucks game!”

Favorite spot on campus

“My favorite spot on campus is the chapel because it is quiet, a great place to study, and there are food and snacks. I also like the Stu.”

Biggest surprise so far

“The financial aid made it possible for me to be here at Carthage!”

What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?

“My 8-year-old self would be proud of me for following my dreams and choosing the marketing career path.”

Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?

Marketing and management is a great degree program because you get to be creative, help people in the business world, and learn hands-on experience in the marketing industry.”

Why Carthage?

“I chose Carthage because of the small class sizes and the academics.”
