Laurie Jensen is an associate professor in the allied health science department. She earned a B.A. in exercise and sport science from Carthage College in 1999 and a Master of Education from Carthage College in 2001. She joined Carthage in 1999 as a graduate assistant while earning her master’s degree. She has been a certified and licensed athletic trainer since 1999. Before joining the faculty in 2000, she worked in the industrial setting as a rehabilitation and wellness specialist for Super Value Corporation.

She served as Carthage’s first female head athletic trainer and clinical education coordinator before moving to program director for the athletic training education program. She was the driving force for developing the master of athletic training program and the allied health science major. Interprofessional education is a passion, developing programs that cross healthcare professions.

Professor Jensen enjoys watching the personal and professional growth of her students. “My desire is to be instrumental in the development of a Carthage graduate that displays integrity, kindness, courage, and determination.
