Mary Ann Tuchscherer
First Year
Fox Valley Technical College
Major: Aeronautics and Aviation Management
Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Mary Ann Tuchscherer! Mary Ann is the recipient of an Undergraduate Scholarship award, as well as a Women in Aviation Scholarship award. She is currently a first-year student at Fox Valley Technical College.
Mary Ann is in her first year in the Pilot Program at Fox Valley Technical College, where she is pursuing an associate’s degree in aeronautics and a bachelor’s degree in aviation management. Recently, she earned her Private Pilot license and is now working on her instrument rating.
Mary Ann’s grandfather was a P-51 fighter pilot in World War II, who passed on his love for aviation to his children, many of whom later became pilots themselves. Her interest in flying started when she was very young, flying countless hours with her father and uncles. She grew up attending EAA Airventure each year and spending summer afternoons watching planes take off and land at the Wittman Regional Airport.
After graduating from Fox Valley Technical College, Mary Ann hopes to become a flight instructor where she can gain experience and spread her passion for flying. From there, she hopes to fly for a regional airline, gaining enough hours to become a commercial airline pilot. Outside of flying, Mary Ann can be found hiking her local trails with her german shepherd and frequenting the local coffee shops.
Congratulations Mary Ann, and best of luck to you in your future endeavors!
