WSGC Student Spotlight: Ellyssa Purdy

Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Ellyssa Purdy! Ellyssa is the recipient of a STEM Bridge Scholarship and is currently a 3rd Year student studying Mechanical Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Ellyssa Purdy is a third-year student at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Applied Mathematics. She is the recipient of a STEM Bridge scholarship and a Georgia-Pacific scholarship in Engineering. These opportunities have provided Ellyssa the resources needed to better focus on her educational development outside of the classroom. She has dedicated herself to two extracurriculars on campus of which she has received the titles of Vice President of the UWGB Engineering Club and Team Lead of the UWGB Collegiate Rocket Launch Team. In her spare time, Ellyssa designs and builds rockets to pursue a goal of obtaining her rocket certifications. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she intends to apply to graduate school to further her knowledge in the engineering field and progress toward a career as a mechanical engineer.
