Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium is pleased to announce the second annual Aerospace Jam II. This event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, followed the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Orlando Magic at 7:30 p.m. at Fiserv Forum.

For our undergraduate student attendees, individuals will have the opportunity to meet with participating companies from the growing list of over 300 aerospace companies that serve the aerospace industry across the state, nation, and the globe, and discuss career opportunities with aerospace companies that may be hiring individuals with STEM-related degrees. New to the list of companies participating in 2018 is Gulfstream, located in Appleton, WI.
Our opening session will include a keynote talk by Haley Anderson, Space Systems Project Engineer from Sierra Nevada Corporation. Haley works on Dream Chaser and CST100 capsule. She grew up as a NASA daughter, her father working at the White Sands Test Facility. We also expect Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch will provide opening remarks; she will likely want to speak directly with a number of the participating students regarding their goals and plans for the future here in the state.

Haley Anderson is a Project Engineer for Sierra Nevada Corporation’s Space Systems division in Madison, Wisconsin. She is currently working in Life Support Systems, Thermal Control Systems, Hydroponics, and Propulsion where she contributes her varied talents to new advancements in space exploration. Haley is a tenacious advocate for solving the unsolvable; she has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to break down the needs across programs and to strategize a resolution that pulls together individuals in traditionally “stove-piped” positions to work in concert towards a common objective. She strives to understand the obstacles and roadblocks that exist and how to keep herself and others accountable to removing said roadblocks to get the task at hand completed.
In her nearly ten year career in aerospace, she has helped design and pattern the space suit—leading the anthropometric research between the suit and capsule systems, managed high level projects under the new shuttle (SLS) program and acted as the subcontract representative with NASA communications in projects totaling over $70M. She has modeled vehicle interfaces in ANSYS, MATLAB, and CRADLE, and wrote programming to update the fluid dynamic outputs of one of NASA’s largest hypersonic wind tunnels. Hayley has also been highly involved in her community to promote STEAM (particularly for young women) and organized regional events for her church’s youth. Haley is a wife to another engineering mind and mother to two young children. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boise State University with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Theatre.
