Jessica Reukema is this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight! She is a 2016 Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Scholarship awardee. Jessica has been intrigued by rocks since she was a little kid! This lead to her interest in the life-forms found in sediment and other rocks. She started research last year looking at Carboniferous period fossils of species that were affected by low to no oxygen (anoxia) events in the oceans, which are a focus of NASA’s Astrobiology Institute.  Jessica is a member of the earth science honor society, Sigma Gamma Epsilon, and the Geology Club.  Keep up the excellent work and good luck finishing up your undergrad!
