Congratulations to this week’s WSGC Student Spotlight, Evan Linck! Evan is the recipient of a WSGC Graduate and Professional Research Fellowship and is currently a Ph.D. student studying Astronomy at The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Students and faculty from across Wisconsin will participate in WSGC’s Launch 2 Learn Workshop, an all-day experience focused on high-power rocket construction, flight simulation, and Level 1 certification readiness.

Evan Linck’s research focuses on the evolution of binary star systems and how binarity can impact stellar evolution and stellar populations. Prior to starting his Ph.D., Evan worked on federal science and space policy at the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute. Throughout his career, he hopes to combine his interests in astronomy, data science, and science policy to advance space research, exploration, and utilization for the betterment of society. Evan holds an M.S. in astronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in international science and technology policy from George Washington University, and a B.S. in physics with honors from Yale University.
